Dr. Bashir Jamoh, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), has firmly denied recent media reports suggesting he said former governor Nasir El-Rufai remains a stakeholder in the APC, according to iReporter Online.

According to iReporter Online, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) noted that some media outlets had attributed these comments to Jamoh during a Kaduna press conference, amid swirling speculation about El-Rufai’s political future following his resignation from the ruling party.

El-Rufai, who recently left APC to join opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections, first aligned with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) before joining the National Coalition of Opposition Parties, using the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as their platform, according to iReporter Online.

In a statement released on Saturday, Jamoh called the reports “false and misleading,” clarifying that he never made such statements to any media organization.

“The report is entirely fabricated and a gross misrepresentation of facts,” he asserted, urging the public to disregard the publications as fake news.

He further emphasized his commitment to truth and accountability in public discourse, reinforcing his stand against misinformation.
