Victor Osimhen’s Heroics Secure Historic Result For Galatasaray Against Liverpool

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen made history on Tuesday night by becoming the first Nigerian to score double digits in the UEFA Champions League. The 26-year-old achieved the milestone during Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Premier League champions Liverpool at Rams Park in a Champions League group stage encounter.

Starting his first full match for the Turkish side since recovering from an ankle injury, Osimhen displayed no rustiness, calmly converting a penalty in the 16th minute. The spot-kick was awarded after Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai was penalized for a foul inside the box.
