2027: Atiku Abubakar Names New Aide

According to a statement from the Atiku Media Office, the appointment is part of efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement, promote wider participation, and enhance strategic mobilisation across the South-East ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The statement revealed that Udunze’s appointment took effect on April 1, 2026, adding that the move reflects the ADC presidential candidate’s commitment to expanding community outreach and building stronger connections with stakeholders across the region.

According to the statement, the appointment is aimed at deepening partnerships, encouraging democratic participation, promoting national unity, and advancing a people-focused development agenda.

Udunze, an indigene of Imo State, is described as a literary scholar and the Chief Executive Officer of Khaimaenergy Ltd. He has gained experience in community development, humanitarian initiatives, peacebuilding, agricultural empowerment, and stakeholder relations.

His professional background includes consultancy roles with international organisations such as CARE International, where he contributed to community development projects, as well as involvement with the Community Mobile Clinic and Gender Base Centre in supporting health and gender-focused programmes.

He has also participated in agricultural empowerment projects, including greenhouse plantation initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and food security, while his work with Mercy Corps International focused on community engagement, conflict resolution, and strengthening social cohesion.

In his new role, Udunze is expected to coordinate grassroots mobilisation activities across the South-East, working with zonal, state, local government, ward, and polling unit coordinators.

He will also collaborate with traditional institutions, community leaders, youth and women groups, professionals, faith-based organisations, civil society groups, and other stakeholders to promote inclusive participation and build support for Atiku’s political vision ahead of the 2027 election.
