Heartbreaking! Ondo Mother Loses Two Babies To Domestic Violence, Pleads For Justice
According to Ireporter Online, a 34-year-old woman identified as Adeleke Ruth from Akure, Ondo State, has cried out for help after allegedly losing two pregnancies following persistent assaults by her estranged partner, Adesola Abiodun. Adeleke, who has reportedly endured years of domestic violence, appealed to the Ministry of Women Affairs to intervene and ensure her safety, citing repeated threats to her life.
Family members revealed that the abuse began about two years ago and has left the victim traumatized. Despite several reports to the Akure Police Station since 2023, no meaningful action has been taken. Sources close to the family alleged that the suspect often boasts of his political and social connections, claiming he cannot be arrested.
Medical reports show that Adeleke lost a 24-week pregnancy on May 24, 2023, following one of the assaults. Again, on November 17, 2024, she lost another pregnancy, this time at 36 weeks, after a violent attack that resulted in a stillbirth and severe bleeding.
The situation escalated further on June 2, 2024, when Abiodun allegedly attacked Adeleke’s younger brother, leaving him with a deep cut on the ear. The family explained that Adeleke and Abiodun were never legally married but had lived together before she left due to continuous abuse. After the separation, Adeleke reportedly got married, but her former partner resurfaced months later and allegedly assaulted her new husband, breaking his arm before fleeing the scene.
According to relatives, Abiodun continues to issue threats to anyone who offers support or protection to Adeleke. They expressed fear for her safety, disclosing that she is now contemplating leaving the country after multiple failed attempts to secure justice through the police.
