According to Ireporter Online, Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija’s Level Up season, has opened up about the challenges she faced during her childhood, including struggles with the name given to her at birth. She revealed that her parents named her Blessing, a name she has come to dislike because it felt disconnected from her early life experiences.

In a recent interview, the reality TV star described her upbringing as difficult and emotionally challenging. She recounted often feeling unloved and seeking acceptance from family members, friends, and romantic partners, experiences that frequently left her feeling rejected and verbally criticised.

Phyna described her childhood as “crazy,” noting that she missed out on opportunities that many of her peers enjoyed. Despite these hardships, she said she was determined to overcome her circumstances. She recalled telling her extended family that she would one day achieve fame and financial success, and that they would eventually witness her rise.

“The name given to me by my parents is Blessing. My reason for disliking it is that I don’t see a sense of blessing in my life. I always felt like I was begging for love—from family, friends, and even in relationships. Sometimes, it even felt like a curse,” Phyna said.
