ADC Primary Fallout: “Go To Appeal, State Your Reasons” — Igbawua Fires Back At Amaechi, Hayatu-Deen Amid Internal Party Tensions

According to Ireporter Online, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) electoral panel, Chille Igbawua, has called on aggrieved presidential aspirants, including former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, to formally take their complaints to the party’s appeal panel over the outcome of its presidential primary election.

Naija News reports that Amaechi had rejected the result of the primaries, alleging widespread disenfranchisement and irregularities, claiming that a significant portion of party members were denied the opportunity to vote during the exercise.

Similarly, Hayatu-Deen had distanced himself from the announcement of the presidential primary results, citing concerns over alleged irregularities in the conduct of the election.

Reacting to the development during an interview on ARISE Television, Igbawua, who serves as an adviser to the ADC National Chairman, David Mark, stressed that the party has established internal dispute resolution mechanisms designed to address such grievances.

He explained that aspirants who feel dissatisfied with any stage of the process are expected to approach the appeal panels rather than publicly dismissing the outcome.

Igbawua further noted that the appeal structures are already in place for both screening and primary processes, adding that candidates have previously been cleared through the same mechanism after initial concerns were raised.
