Full List: NDC Unveils Electoral Committee Members For Primaries
According to Ireporter Online, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has released the full list of Electoral Committee Members tasked with overseeing its forthcoming primary elections across the country.
The party had earlier confirmed that its primaries are scheduled to hold nationwide on May 29, 2026, aligning with its previously released timetable set for May 28 and 29. The exercise will cover the selection of candidates for the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, Governorship, and Presidential elections across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement shared via its official handle on Thursday, the party disclosed that the committees will supervise and conduct the primaries across all geopolitical zones, ensuring compliance with internal electoral guidelines.
The released list shows committee members assigned to each state under the six geopolitical zones. In the South-East, Abia State will be chaired by Chief Asukewe Ikoawaji, while Anambra State will be led by Prof. Osita Ogbu. Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States also have their respective committees constituted with designated chairpersons, members, and secretaries.
In the South-South zone, Akwa Ibom State committee will be chaired by Dr. Clement Agiangie, while Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, and Rivers States also have their electoral panels announced with representatives drawn from various professional backgrounds.
For the South-West, Lagos State committee will be led by Alhaji Sidi Abdul Bomi, while Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo States also have their electoral committees constituted to oversee the primaries in their respective jurisdictions.
In the North-Central region, Benue State committee is headed by Jenkins Gwede, while Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau States, and the FCT also have their committee members announced for the exercise.
In the North-East, Adamawa State committee will be chaired by Williams Lappi, while Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe States also have their electoral committees constituted ahead of the primaries.
In the North-West zone, Jigawa State committee is chaired by Tasiu Safiyanu Liman, while Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara States also have their respective electoral committee members announced.
The NDC stated that the committees are expected to ensure transparency, credibility, and smooth conduct of the party’s primary elections nationwide.
