Tyson Fury has confirmed that he will make his return to the boxing ring in Dublin on August 1 as momentum continues to build toward a potential heavyweight showdown with Anthony Joshua later this year.

According to reports monitored by Ireporter Online, the 36-year-old former world heavyweight champion disclosed the date through a video shared on his Instagram page from his training camp in Thailand. Fury accompanied the post with the message, “Let’s go August 1, Dublin, Ireland,” sparking excitement among boxing fans ahead of his comeback.

Although an opponent for the bout has not yet been officially announced, promoter Frank Warren previously suggested that discussions were at an advanced stage and confirmation could arrive soon.

Fury’s scheduled return comes amid heightened activity in the heavyweight division, with Anthony Joshua also preparing for a comeback fight. Joshua is expected to face Albanian boxer Kristian Prenga in Riyadh on July 25 as negotiations surrounding a highly anticipated clash between the two British heavyweights continue to gather momentum.

The Dublin boxing event had reportedly been arranged before Fury’s involvement became public, with Irish boxer Pierce O’Leary already set to battle Mark Chamberlain on the undercard. Fury is now widely expected to headline the event.

The former WBC heavyweight champion last stepped into the ring on April 11 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he delivered a dominant points victory over Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov. Fury controlled the contest throughout all 12 rounds, earning scorecards of 120-108 from two judges, while the third scored the bout 119-109 in his favour.

Warren has remained optimistic about Fury’s return and the future of the heavyweight division, although attention is currently focused on unveiling Fury’s next opponent before talks surrounding a blockbuster encounter with Joshua intensify further.
