Tinubu Issues Special Message To Nigeria’s Security Forces (Full Text)
According to Ireporter Online, President Bola Tinubu on Monday issued a strong message of appreciation to personnel of Nigeria’s security agencies, praising them for their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting the nation against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of violent crime.
In a personally signed statement, the President described members of the Armed Forces, Police, DSS, Civil Defence, intelligence units, and other security formations as a vital shield standing between law-abiding citizens and those who seek to destabilize the country. He noted that their operations across forests, highways, creeks, airspace, and remote terrains have made it possible for millions of Nigerians to live, work, and worship in relative safety.
Tinubu acknowledged that the fight against insecurity has been difficult and costly, stressing that it has demanded immense sacrifice, resilience, and professionalism from security operatives. He assured that his administration remains fully committed to supporting them and will not relent in the effort to defeat criminal elements threatening national peace.
The President also paid tribute to families of security personnel, recognizing the emotional burden and long periods of separation endured due to the demands of service. He further honoured fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, noting that while their names may not always receive widespread attention, their sacrifices continue to live on in the safer communities they helped secure.
Reiterating that national security is a collective responsibility, Tinubu urged citizens to actively support security operations by providing timely and useful information, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and cooperation in the ongoing fight against insecurity. He maintained that Nigeria will not succumb to fear or allow terrorists, bandits, or extremist groups to define its identity or future.
He concluded by commending the dedication of frontline operatives and praying for divine protection over all those serving in defense of the country.
