Galatasaray have completed the full payment of the €75 million transfer fee for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, bringing an end to their financial commitments to Napoli and finalizing one of the most significant transfers in Turkish football history.

According to reports monitored by Ireporter Online, the Turkish champions recently settled the final €17.5 million instalment of the agreement reached when Osimhen’s permanent switch from Napoli was completed in July 2025. The payment structure saw Galatasaray make an initial €40 million payment before clearing the remaining balance through two instalments of €17.5 million each, with the last payment originally scheduled before the end of 2026.

The early settlement is said to have strengthened Galatasaray’s financial position ahead of the upcoming transfer window, leaving the club free of any outstanding obligations related to the Nigerian international’s record-breaking move.

Osimhen’s transfer remains the most expensive signing in Turkish football history, surpassing Fenerbahce’s €20 million acquisition of Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla.

As part of the agreement, Napoli secured a clause entitling the Italian side to 10 percent of any profit generated from Osimhen’s future transfer. The deal also includes a restriction preventing Galatasaray from selling the striker to another Serie A club before 2027 without facing a substantial financial penalty.

The provision, reportedly insisted upon by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, states that Galatasaray would be required to pay double the original transfer fee should Osimhen join an Italian rival before the agreed deadline.

Osimhen’s departure from Napoli followed a breakdown in relations after he played a key role in ending the club’s 33-year wait for a Serie A title during the 2022/23 season, finishing as the league’s top scorer with 26 goals. Although he later signed a lucrative contract extension that made him Napoli’s highest-paid player, tensions reportedly escalated during the following campaign, particularly after the club turned down a reported $170 million offer from Saudi side Al Ahli.

The Nigerian forward initially joined Galatasaray on loan for the 2024/25 season, where he enjoyed a sensational campaign, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists across all competitions to register one of the club’s most productive individual seasons in recent history.

His outstanding performances convinced Galatasaray to secure his services permanently after lengthy negotiations over payment terms and financial guarantees, culminating in the completion of the transfer in July 2025.

Reports indicate that Osimhen signed a four-year contract worth approximately €15 million per season in guaranteed wages, with additional earnings from bonuses and image rights agreements.

The 27-year-old has continued to justify the investment, recording 22 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances during his first full season as a permanent Galatasaray player. His contributions helped the Istanbul giants clinch a fourth consecutive Süper Lig title and reach the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

Despite Galatasaray completing the transfer payment in full, speculation surrounding Osimhen’s future remains strong, with European powerhouses Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal and Bayern Munich reportedly keeping a close watch on the prolific Nigerian striker.
