Tamunosoye Karibi-George Crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026 In Stunning Win

According to Ireporter Online, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, who represented Bayelsa State, has been crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026 after emerging victorious at the grand finale held on Saturday night at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.

The 26-year-old, originally from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, secured the coveted crown after outperforming 20 other finalists in a competition themed “Pride, Power, and Purpose.” Her victory now positions her as Nigeria’s official representative at the 73rd Miss World Festival, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August 9 to September 5, 2026.

The announcement was made on Sunday via X by Silverbird Group founder and former Bayelsa East Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, who described the moment as the beginning of a new chapter for the nation’s newest queen.

He praised Karibi-George’s advocacy work, highlighting her initiative, Beyond Labels, which focuses on inclusion, dignity, and empowerment for children with special needs, providing them with safe spaces to pursue their dreams and aspirations.

Murray-Bruce further noted that her purpose, intelligence, poise, and passion distinguished her throughout the competition, ultimately earning her the national crown. He also called on Nigerians to rally behind her as she prepares to represent the country on the global stage.

Miss World Nigeria, organised by the Silverbird Group, selects Nigeria’s representative for the international Miss World pageant, which promotes the “Beauty with a Purpose” platform, encouraging contestants to engage in charitable and humanitarian projects.

Karibi-George succeeds Joy Mojisola Raimi, Miss World Nigeria 2025, who represented Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, India, where she reached the Top 20 and finished among the Top 5 African contestants.
