Ayra Starr Secures UK Silver Certification For ‘Bl**dy Samaritan’

Afrobeats sensation Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has achieved a new career milestone after her 2021 hit single “Bloody Samaritan” was officially awarded a UK Silver certification.

According to Ireporter Online, the certification was issued by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), recognizing the commercial success of the track, which is featured on her debut album 19 & Dangerous, released under Mavin Records.

With this achievement, Ayra Starr joins an elite group of Nigerian artists who have attained UK Silver status, underscoring the global impact of Afrobeats.

Industry heavyweights such as Burna Boy and Asake have previously earned similar recognition for projects including African Giant, Twice As Tall, Damini, Work of Art, and the hit single “Lonely At The Top.”

Others include Wizkid, who was certified for Made in Lagos, and Davido for Timeless. Tems also received recognition for Born in the Wild, while Omah Lay was certified for Boy Alone, Rema for Rave & Roses, and CKay for the global hit “Love Nwantiti.”

The latest milestone further highlights the growing international dominance and commercial success of Nigerian music on the global stage.
