Ghanaian music star Shatta Wale has credited Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy as major sources of inspiration in his quest to take Ghanaian music to a wider global audience.

According to reports, the award-winning singer made the remarks during an appearance on the Afrobeats Podcast, where he spoke about his relationships with the three internationally acclaimed artists and expressed optimism about collaborating with them again in the future despite their demanding schedules.

Reflecting on his first encounter with Davido, Shatta Wale revealed that the Nigerian singer told him his father was a fan of one of his earlier songs. He noted that they developed a strong friendship over the years, although fans rarely see them together publicly because their careers have taken them in different directions.

The Ghanaian entertainer explained that the rapid pace of success and professional commitments has naturally limited their public interactions, even though they continue to share mutual respect.

Speaking about Burna Boy, Shatta Wale described the Grammy-winning star as a brother, recalling how the singer visited Ghana during one of the more challenging periods of his career. He also characterized Wizkid as a naturally reserved individual, saying they have only met on a few occasions, including at a concert and later in East Legon.

Despite the limited interactions, Shatta Wale said the achievements of the trio continue to inspire him to remain focused on elevating Ghanaian music on the international stage. He stressed that their global breakthroughs serve as proof that consistent hard work and dedication can open doors to worldwide recognition.

The singer added that he remains committed to refining his craft and hopes his journey will eventually lead to meaningful collaborations with the three Afrobeats stars.

Shatta Wale has previously worked with Burna Boy on the songs “Hosanna” in 2017 and “Holy City” in 2026, while his collaboration with Davido dates back to the 2014 track “Wine Your Waist.”
