According to Ireporter Online, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has confirmed holding strategic meetings with key figures of the party, including its National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, and Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen unity within the opposition movement.

The development comes shortly after Senator Dickson acknowledged that discussions had taken place with Obi aimed at addressing internal concerns within the party. Obi, in a statement shared via his handle on Democracy Day, described the engagements as productive and focused on consolidating the vision of what he called a “New Nigeria that is possible.”

He noted that the meetings reflected the commitment of party leaders to resolve differences and build mutual trust, stressing that tolerance, sacrifice, and understanding remain essential values for sustaining political unity and driving national transformation. Obi further emphasized that despite being a relatively new political platform, the NDC continues to position itself as a forward-looking movement dedicated to purposeful leadership, productivity, and democratic principles.

Reaffirming the party’s shared mission, he maintained that the leadership structure remains committed to using the NDC as a vehicle for delivering compassionate governance and advancing a collective vision for national renewal.
