Patience Ozokwor Says She Took On Villain Roles To Highlight Societal Problems
According to Ireporter Online, veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, has disclosed that her frequent portrayal of villainous characters in films is a deliberate effort to expose societal ills and bring uncomfortable truths to the forefront.
The actress explained during a recent interaction that her choice of roles is guided by a sense of responsibility to reflect real-life issues that many people often avoid discussing. She noted that films serve as a powerful tool for raising awareness by portraying wrongdoing and moral conflict in society.
Ozokwor stated that she has remained bold in taking on such roles because the issues depicted on screen happen in real life but are rarely addressed openly. She added that she takes pride in her work and appreciates the continued support of her fans, especially those who admire her “Mama G” persona.
“I felt bold to expose the ills of society. These things happen and nobody wants to expose them, so I’m exposing them. So I’m extremely proud of myself and Mama G lovers,” she said.
Over the years, audiences have continued to praise her performances, describing her villain roles as some of the most memorable in Nollywood history, crediting her consistency and ability to portray complex characters across decades.
