According to Ireporter Online, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has described Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election victory in Ekiti State as a strong expression of public confidence in both the APC and the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Yilwatda stated that the outcome of the Ekiti governorship election, alongside the party’s performance in recent bye-elections nationwide, reflects continued public trust in the APC’s governance approach despite prevailing economic challenges. He noted that the results indicate Nigerians’ ability to distinguish between short-term difficulties linked to ongoing reforms and the expected long-term benefits of economic restructuring, infrastructure expansion, and institutional reforms.

In a statement issued through his Special Adviser, Abimbola Tooki, he said the victories recorded by the party demonstrate widespread endorsement of its governance philosophy anchored on development, accountability, stability, and citizens’ welfare.

Yilwatda also praised Governor Oyebanji’s re-election, describing it as a reward for what he called visionary leadership, inclusive governance, prudent resource management, and visible developmental progress across Ekiti State. He added that performance-driven governance had once again proven to be a decisive factor in democratic elections.

He further noted that the Ekiti election, which the APC said was won decisively by Oyebanji, has now become a national reference point for the party, reinforcing the belief that effective governance translates into electoral support. The APC also secured victories in five out of six bye-elections conducted across the country.

According to him, Ekiti State under Oyebanji stands as a model of good governance, citing investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, workers’ welfare, and rural development. He added that the administration has maintained political stability while delivering measurable progress across key sectors.

Yilwatda further linked the electoral outcomes to President Tinubu’s reform agenda, stating that it is laying the foundation for a more resilient and competitive Nigerian economy built on long-term productivity and national development.
