Spyro Warns Men: Spending Money On Women Is A Waste Of Time
According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, has advised young men and fellow entertainers to be cautious about their spending habits, warning that reckless financial decisions have led many artistes into poverty after achieving fame.
The singer made the remarks while performing at an event over the weekend, where he reflected on how sudden success in the entertainment industry often pushes individuals into poor money management choices. He noted that some musicians, after earning their first major income, tend to spend lavishly on parties, frequent travel, and relationships, particularly involving foreign women, instead of prioritising savings and investments.
Spyro stressed that while it is important to enjoy life and show generosity, uncontrolled spending can quickly erode financial stability and long-term progress. He urged young men in the audience to adopt a more strategic and future-focused approach to money management rather than living solely for immediate gratification.
He further revealed that after gaining fame, he was approached by several individuals, including social media influencers, who attempted to gain his attention and even offered to sponsor trips for him. However, he said he declined such offers in order to remain focused on his music career and make disciplined financial choices.
In his words, Spyro cautioned: “If you are here and you are spending money on women, I think you are wasting your time. I’m not saying you should not spend on your woman, but use your head.”
He also added that he personally knows colleagues who went broke after mismanaging their earnings, saying they squandered their first major income on parties and luxury trips. He emphasized that avoiding such habits has contributed to his current financial stability and success.
