Angela Okorie Goes Viral Over Outfit At Alexx Ekubo’s Burial (Video)
According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has explained why she set ablaze the outfit she wore to the burial ceremony of late actor Alexx Ekubo, following advice from her godmother.
The actress revealed that she was told it is inappropriate to keep clothing worn to a funeral, as it should be discarded or destroyed. Acting on that counsel, Okorie disclosed that she decided to burn the outfit, noting that it was a symbolic gesture she felt compelled to share with her followers.
She wrote in a post shared via her Instagram story that the outfit was what she wore to Alex Ekubo’s burial, adding that her godmother advised her to dispose of it by fire. She further urged friends and family to take note of the practice, praying for long life and blessings for everyone. The actress also shared a short video showing the moment the outfit was set on fire.
Recall that Alexx Ekubo was laid to rest last week in his hometown, Aziukwubwo Ujori village in Arochukwu, Abia State, following reports that he passed away on May 11 after battling stage four kidney cancer.
In other developments, Okorie has also had recent legal issues, as she was remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre in January after being arraigned over alleged cyber-related offences. While official details were not fully disclosed, reports linked the case to her public feud with fellow actress Mercy Johnson, which escalated after controversial remarks made by Okorie last year.
