According to reports from United States immigration authorities, a Nigerian national, Ayodeji Ajayi, has been deported from the country following multiple criminal convictions, including domestic violence-related offences.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Tuesday. The agency stated that Ajayi entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa but failed to leave the country after discontinuing his studies, thereby remaining in the country unlawfully.

Immigration authorities explained that rather than complying with the terms of his visa and departing the United States, Ajayi amassed a significant criminal record over the years. According to the agency, his convictions included domestic violence, trespassing, intimidation, and obstruction.

ICE further revealed that his criminal history also featured charges relating to kidnapping, rape, and family neglect, although it did not provide additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding those allegations or their legal outcomes.

The agency credited the deportation to the administration’s ongoing immigration enforcement efforts aimed at removing undocumented immigrants with criminal records from the country. Officials noted that Ajayi’s removal formed part of broader measures targeting individuals found to be residing illegally in the United States while engaging in criminal activities.

While confirming that Ajayi had been deported, immigration authorities did not specify the exact date the removal was carried out, nor did they disclose where the offences occurred or provide further information about the convictions and charges.

The case comes amid intensified immigration enforcement actions across the United States, as authorities continue efforts to identify, detain, and remove undocumented immigrants with criminal backgrounds.
