Naira Vs Dollar: Latest Exchange Rate For July 9, 2026
According to Ireporter Online, the Nigerian naira traded at ₦1,410 per United States dollar in the parallel market, popularly known as the black market or Aboki FX, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Market information obtained from Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos indicated that the dollar was purchased at ₦1,398 and sold at ₦1,410 during the day’s trading activities. The rates reflect the prevailing prices within the unofficial foreign exchange market, where exchange values are largely influenced by demand and supply.
The report noted that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) continues to distance itself from transactions conducted in the parallel market. The apex bank maintains that it does not recognize the black market for foreign exchange dealings and has consistently advised individuals and businesses seeking forex to obtain it through authorized commercial banks and other approved financial institutions.
Meanwhile, official data from the CBN showed that the highest exchange rate for the dollar stood at ₦1,387, while the lowest rate was recorded at ₦1,376.
Market observers also cautioned that foreign exchange rates may differ across locations and dealers, as prices are subject to fluctuations based on market conditions and negotiations between buyers and sellers.
