2027: City Boy Movement Will Deliver Massive Victory For Tinubu, Akpabio Declares

According to reports, Akpabio made the statement on Wednesday while receiving members of the pro-Tinubu group during a courtesy visit at his office in the National Assembly.

The Senate President commended the movement for its commitment to mobilising grassroots support for the President, describing it as an emerging political force whose influence is spreading across the country.

Akpabio likened the movement’s growing presence to a wind that may not be visible but can be strongly felt, adding that political parties across Nigeria were already noticing its impact.

He stated that the group’s nationwide mobilisation efforts would help strengthen the ruling party’s presence at polling units during the next general election, particularly by ensuring adequate representation for the President’s supporters.

The Senate President noted that several votes were allegedly lost during previous elections due to inadequate monitoring at polling centres, adding that the involvement of the City Boy Movement could help address such challenges in future elections.

He urged members of the group to remain committed to voter education, political awareness, and grassroots engagement, saying their efforts would contribute to a stronger electoral process.

Akpabio also dismissed anticipated criticisms from opposition parties, advising members of the movement to remain focused on their mobilisation activities rather than distractions.

He encouraged young Nigerians involved in the movement to embrace responsible leadership, avoid social vices, and see political participation as an opportunity to prepare for future leadership roles.

The Senate President assured the group of the support of the National Assembly, describing youth participation in lawful political activities as a positive development for the country.

Earlier, Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Francis Shoga, said the visit was aimed at strengthening cooperation between the organisation and the National Assembly.

Shoga stated that the movement would continue expanding its programmes nationwide while promoting civic engagement and encouraging young Nigerians to contribute to national development.
