USD To Naira Today: Latest Exchange Rate For July 5, 2026
The exchange rate between the United States dollar and the Nigerian naira at the parallel market remained a key focus for traders and businesses on Saturday, July 4, 2026, as the local currency continued to trade outside the official foreign exchange window.
According to market information obtained by Ireporter Online from Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos, the dollar was bought at ₦1,395 and sold at ₦1,410 in the black market, also known as the parallel market.
Meanwhile, the official exchange rate released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed the dollar trading within a range of ₦1,369 to ₦1,373.
The apex bank has consistently maintained that it does not recognize transactions conducted in the parallel market and has advised individuals and businesses seeking foreign exchange to obtain it through authorized financial institutions and commercial banks.
Foreign exchange dealers, however, noted that exchange rates in both the official and parallel markets remain subject to fluctuations based on demand, supply, and prevailing market conditions. As a result, the actual buying and selling rates offered by dealers may differ from the quoted figures depending on location and transaction volume.
