A man has reportedly been apprehended in Lagos after allegedly consuming food worth about ₦324,000 at a restaurant without paying his bills.

According to Ireporter Online, the incident was brought to public attention through a video shared online, in which the restaurant owner explained that the man had allegedly been visiting the establishment regularly for more than two months.

The owner claimed that the man typically ordered meals worth around ₦6,000 each day before leaving without making payment. She said the alleged scheme continued whenever she was away, with her staff attending to the customer.

A person who shared the video alleged that the man had recently spent six months in a correctional facility after reportedly being accused of stealing ₦250,000 belonging to his employer.

The man was also alleged to have confessed to using fake bank transfer alerts to deceive people into believing that payments had been made for goods or services.

According to the account shared online, the man was eventually apprehended after the restaurant’s accumulated unpaid bills reportedly reached ₦324,000.

A security personnel featured in the video appealed to members of the public to avoid criminal activities while recounting the circumstances surrounding the man’s alleged arrest.

The incident has since generated reactions online, with social media users expressing surprise over the alleged repeated visits and the amount of food reportedly consumed without payment.
