MC Oluomo: “I Didn’t Enter NURTW As A B@stard

Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo and the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), has declared that he possesses more knowledge and practical understanding than many university graduates despite not having a formal education.

According to Ireporter Online, MC Oluomo made the remarks while speaking at the 50th birthday celebration of Islamic singer Hafsat Adegoke in Lagos, where he reflected on his life journey and rise within the transport union.

Recounting his early years, the NURTW president said he began working as a bus conductor at a young age, earning money to support himself and his family. He explained that his determination and commitment to learning the trade enabled him to climb the ranks and eventually become one of Nigeria’s most prominent transport union leaders.

MC Oluomo stressed that his success was built on hard work and experience, insisting that he did not attain his current position by chance. He maintained that although he did not receive a formal education, the knowledge and wisdom he has acquired through life have placed him ahead of many people with academic degrees.

He also highlighted the achievements of his children as evidence that his lack of formal schooling never prevented him from valuing education. According to him, his children have gone on to become a doctor, a lawyer and an engineer, all based in the United States.

Speaking further, MC Oluomo recalled using the money he earned as a young conductor to watch movies and still provide financial support for his mother, describing those experiences as the foundation of his journey to success. He concluded by expressing gratitude to God for his accomplishments and prayed for the continued well-being and longevity of his children.
