The Man Who Saw Tomorrow: 6 Key Reasons The Amended Electoral Act Prove Tinubu Saw The Future

The Man Who Saw Tomorrow is a 1981 documentary about the 16th-century French astrologist and doctor, Michele de Nostradame.

Nostradamus was a French astrologer, physician and reputed seer. The movie, “The Man Who Saw Tomorrow” as narrated by Orson Welles, examines the predictions that Nostradamus made that spanned over a generation of years.

The amended electoral act passed by Buhari and the recent bills assented to by the two chambers of the National Assembly clearly shows that the former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu may have shared some similarities with Nostradamus in the act of true-to-life prediction.

In as much as a few schools of concept might also argue the veracity of Nostradamus’s prognoses one fact remains that there are many occasions that passed off in U.S. history which might be pronounced to be highly accurate as anticipated through the French Visionary.

Here are 6 key reasons that prove Tinubu indeed saw tomorrow with these electoral clauses passed into law.

Number 1: ” According to Section 51, the total number of accredited voters is taken into account when determining whether or not there was excessive voting at election tribunals.

Here it would interest you to know why I am fascinated by this bill, it gives equal and fair play to all aspirants for elective positions.

Gone are the days’ Government officials would use the paraphernalia of their office to oppress their competitors.

Let me tell you a bit about the sacrifice Tinubu has undertaken in the past that gives credence to Tinubu’s disposition of resigning one’s position to focus on one political assignment at a time.

During the brief Third Republic when Tinubu represented Lagos West Senatorial district he was billed to be made the next Senate President, he had the support of the SDP power brokers in the Senate and the NRC members were as well sympathetic to his Senate Presidential aspiration.

Tinubu had to let go when it was clear the Yoruba race was scheming for the Presidency in the brief third republic. That was how he forewent his ambitions for MKO Abiola.

Then recall also when it was fashionable for Governors having spent two terms in office to retire to the Senate as their PENSION home.

Tinubu who had already purchased the senate form to go back to the senate and to forego his aspirations once again in order to battle Obasanjo who was hell-bent on snatching Lagos from the PROGRESSIVES fold.

In his words,

“I had obtained and filled the INEC form to go to the Senate, then I realised that I have a Gov’ship candidate, Mr Babatunde Fashola and Obasanjo was the President who was determined to win Lagos state. “I told myself, ‘if I go ahead I will strive to win my seat while leaving Fashola to his fate’.

Then one morning I called Ganiyu Solomon and told him to follow me to Abuja, we landed and off we went to INEC’s office, I withdrew my form and handed him another form, Ganiyu was shocked”

That tells you Tinubu is in tandem with the bill stating all political appointees to retire before seeking elective offices.

Number Four: The NASS recently passed a bill seeking Financial Autonomy Clause For State Judiciary And Legislature.

Tinubu as an advocate of true federalism battled and won 13 landmark cases on the principle of federalism at the Supreme Court.

What a great seer, today his wishes alongside millions of Nigerians are coming to reality.

Number Five: NASS Grants States power to generate electricity.

In 2000, former Governor Bola Tinubu partnered with AES Nigeria to build an Independent Power Plant to generate 270MW for Lagos residents.  We all know how Obasanjo and the PDP frustrated this attempt. The rest as they all say is history.

Number Six: NASS Passes Local Government Autonomy Clause.

Wow, isn’t Tinubu a great visionary? Tinubu created 37 Local Council Development Areas, he was met with Military Like resistance from Obasanjo and his PDP forces, he was slammed with various RESTRICTIONS and his monthly allocations were seized thereafter.

Tinubu never relented he fought the coalition forces of Obasanjo to a standstill even without a single revenue from the Federal Government. He marshalled on and today Lagos is the fifth largest economy in Africa.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would go down in history as a visionary leader who knew well ahead of time what would bring about a better standard of living for Nigerians, he not only predicted it he worked assiduously towards achieving it.

Kudos to the administration of President Buhari for bringing these landmark achievements into our electoral act.

Indeed Tinubu is the man who glimpses Tomorrow.

The field is now wide open for every contestant to test their popularity.
