Edo South Battle For Delegates: PDP  Members FINGERS Uroghide Of Sponsoring Violent  Attacks On Party Members

The PDP Edo South convened a three-man Ad-hoc congress earlier today to pick delegates for the upcoming party primaries.

The exercise went over without a hitch, and the delegates emerged in a timely manner. Unfortunately, armed thugs and members alleged to be from the State Vigilante stormed the party’s secretariat a few minutes later.

The thug’s main goal was to disturb the recently finished conference and render the outcome null and void by shooting indiscriminately and destroying anything on sight.

Party members who spoke under the condition of anonymity said the current Senator representing Edo South Senatorial district , Senator Mathew Uroghide was allegedly the sponsor behind the heinous attack on the party leaders present at the Secretariat.

There has been a running  battle over the control pf party delegates between the State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and the PDP South South Vice National Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih over the control of the party structure. It is believed that the outcome of the Ad-hoc congress was not favorable to the sitting Senator.

With no end in sight to the issue, it’s possible that one of the groups vying for control of the party’s structure may lose out when the party holds its primary elections next month.

As of the time of writing this story, all attempts to contact the senator about the allegations had failed.
