12 Suspected Hoodlums Arrested, Five Bags of Cannabis Recovered in Niger
The Niger State Police Command has arrested 12 suspected miscreants and recovered five bags of cannabis during a coordinated raid on blackspots across Minna, the state capital.
According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the operation took place around 1:00 am on June 1, led by officers from the Central Police Division in collaboration with local vigilantes.
The raids targeted locations including Paida, Sabon-Gari, Gwari Market, and Abdulsalam Quarters. The cannabis was found in a residence at Abdulsalam Quarters, where Saifulahi Abubakar, 18, claimed it belonged to a man named Dahiru, who is currently at large.
Among the suspects arrested were Alhassan Yusuf (25), Abubakar Shehu (20), and Hashiru Hamza (20) — some of whom already had pending cases with the police.
All suspects remain in custody and are under investigation. They will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the probe.
