FG Releases Permanent Secretary Exam Results; 14 Candidates Progress To Next Stage
The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has released the results of the written examination for candidates seeking appointment as Permanent Secretaries. According to Ireporter Online, 14 out of 25 participants successfully passed the first stage and will proceed to the next phase.
The subsequent stage will involve an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) proficiency test, scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The assessment is aimed at evaluating candidates’ digital skills, which are considered crucial for effective leadership and management in a modern, technology-driven public service.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, affirmed that the examination process was conducted in a fair and competitive manner. She stated that the exercise reflects the Federal Government’s ongoing reforms to enhance professionalism, accountability, and future readiness within the public service.
Mrs. Walson-Jack emphasized that the selection process is strictly merit-based, designed to identify individuals with proven competence, integrity, and strategic vision capable of leading the Federal Civil Service. She assured citizens that fairness and transparency will guide all stages of the recruitment process, in line with the government’s commitment to renewing the public service.
In a related development, the Federal Government has directed that salaries of federal civil servants who failed to complete a nationwide verification and skills assessment will be suspended starting March 2026. This follows the conclusion of a Personnel Audit and Skills Gap Analysis conducted across the Federal Civil Service. The directive was issued in an official memo from the OHCSF and signed by Mrs. Walson-Jack.
