Cucurella Honors Spain Coach With Tattoo After Historic World Cup Triumph

According to Ireporter Online, Cucurella, who played a key role in Spain’s 1-0 victory over Argentina in the World Cup final, honoured his pledge after De la Fuente guided La Roja to another major international title.

The Real Madrid defender, who joined the club from Chelsea in a reported £52 million transfer in June, unveiled the artwork on his social media platforms, revealing a portrait of De la Fuente holding the World Cup trophy alongside the number “26”.

Sharing images and videos of the tattoo process, Cucurella simply wrote, “Promise kept,” confirming that he had followed through on his commitment.

The defender had earlier promised to get a tattoo of the Spain coach if the team emerged victorious at the tournament. Following the final, De la Fuente jokingly reminded him about the pledge during his post-match media conference.

“I have already asked them, ‘Did you make a mistake?’ They did, but they will enjoy it. I’m not so ugly that they need to hide it somewhere nobody can see,” the coach said, adding that he was proud the players kept their word.

Cucurella was among Spain’s most impressive performers throughout the competition, earning praise for his displays on the pitch while also attracting attention for his unique personality off it.

During the tournament, the defender carried his wife’s pyjama top as a lucky charm, while he previously revealed that his distinctive curly hairstyle helps his child identify him during matches.
