First and foremost, it should establish a strong anti-corruption framework by implementing transparent and accountable governance systems, strengthening investigative and judicial institutions, and promoting whistle-blower protection.

Additionally, implementing comprehensive financial reforms, such as enhancing fiscal discipline, reducing wasteful spending, and promoting fair and efficient taxation, can help address the economic challenges.

The government should also focus on promoting a favorable business environment, attracting foreign investment, and fostering entrepreneurship through targeted policies, streamlined regulations, and infrastructure development.

Tinubu has taken these measures in such a short period of time. Cleaning the Augean stable is a metaphor for dealing with a big and deeply established problem. The Augean stables in Greek mythology were notoriously filthy and packed with years’ worth of accumulated trash, appearing to be impossible to clean.
