BREAKING: Supreme Court Delivers Ruling On Mohammed Abacha’s Case Seeking To Stop FG From Re-Opening Forfeiture Proceedings
The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed an appeal filed by members of the late General Sani Abacha’s family seeking to halt efforts to re-open criminal forfeiture proceedings against the ex-Head of State and some members of his family for their alleged complicity in the looting of the nation’s treasury during Abacha’s administration.
In a unanimous decision read by Justice Emmanuel Agim, the Supreme Court held that the concurrent findings of facts and in the matter are unassailable, dismissing the appeal and ordering the parties to bear the cost of the legal action.
