BREAKING: What Israel Just Did To Southern Gaza
According to Energy Minister Israel Katz, Israel has reinstated the water supply to southern Gaza on Sunday. This comes as a million people have fled the northern part of the Strip in order to seek refuge from a large-scale air assault.
“This will push the civilian population to the southern (part of the) Strip,” Katz said in a statement, a week after Israel had stopped supplying water to the entire territory as part of a “complete siege” on the Palestinian enclave.
He mentioned that the choice to restore the water supply was made following discussions between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden.

Earlier, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated that Israel had informed him about the reinstatement of the water supply in southern Gaza.
“I have been in touch with my Israeli counterparts just within the last hour who reported to me that they have, in fact, turned the water pipe back on in southern Gaza,” Sullivan told CNN.
The Beni Suheila municipality in southern Gaza subsequently verified the reinstatement of the water supply to the village.
After a brutal attack by Hamas militants on Israel on October 7, resulting in over 1,400 casualties in Israel, Israel launched a relentless air campaign against them in Gaza.
This extensive air offensive has led to the loss of at least 2,450 lives in the Palestinian territory.
As of Sunday, the United Nations agency responsible for aiding Palestinian refugees reported that an estimated one million individuals have been displaced within the first seven days of the conflict in Gaza.
“The number is likely to be higher as people continue to leave their homes,” UNRWA director of communications Juliette Touma told AFP.
