Complete List: Tinubu Names New CAC Chairman, Appoints Bala Mohammed Special Adviser, Plus Seven More

According to reports, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Senator Dr. Ibrahim Ida as Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). The President also nominated seven individuals to fill vacant commissioner positions at the National Population Commission (NPC).

The announcement was made in a statement on Monday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. Dr. Ida holds an MSc in Banking & Finance from the University of Ibadan and an LLB from the University of Abuja. Prior to his election to the Senate in 2017 representing Katsina Central, he served as Commissioner of Finance for Katsina State and as Permanent Secretary of the Federal Civil Service.

The seven nominated Federal Commissioners for the NPC are Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi (Ekiti State), Nasiru Mu’azu (Zamfara State), Usman Abubakar Tuggar (Bauchi State), Dr. Isaka Alada Yahaya (Kwara State), Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda (Katsina State), Suleiman Umar (Jigawa State), and Hon. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo (Sokoto State). These appointments are subject to confirmation by the National Assembly and complement existing Federal Commissioners.

In addition, Dr. Yusuf Mohammed from Kano State has been appointed Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo. Bala Mohammed Bello has been confirmed as the President’s Special Adviser on Political Economy. Bello, a Taraba native, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His previous roles include Deputy Governor at the Central Bank of Nigeria and Executive Director (Corporate Services) at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank from 2017 to 2022.

The statement emphasized that President Tinubu “strongly believes in the capacities of the appointees to put in their best to further the administration’s commitment to improving the quality of life for Nigerians.”
