Breaking: Tinubu’s Top Aide Steps Down Ahead Of 2027 Race
Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Citizenship and Leadership, Nasir Bala Aminu, popularly known as Ja’oji, has officially resigned from his position. According to reports, the resignation comes in line with President Tinubu’s directive requiring all political appointees aspiring for elective positions in 2027 to step down on or before March 31, 2026.
In his resignation letter, Ja’oji thanked the president for the opportunity to serve, describing his appointment as a testament to the administration’s commitment to youth development. He noted that his appointment reflected the president’s confidence in young Nigerians and the administration’s desire to empower them to contribute to national progress.
Ja’oji further pledged his continued loyalty to the country and expressed readiness to serve in any capacity if called upon by the president in the future. He praised the administration’s “Renewed Hope Initiative,” describing it as a key driver of policies and programs aimed at national growth.
The former aide also expressed optimism that many of the administration’s policies would achieve greater results if the government were granted another term beyond 2027. His resignation is widely interpreted as a signal of his intention to run for an elective office, though he did not explicitly state the position he intends to seek. Information gathered indicates that Ja’oji is likely targeting the Tarauni Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
