Couple Burnt To Death In Ogun After Attending Crossover Service
Kehinde Fatinoye and Bukola were killed in a mysterious fire shortly after returning from a New Year/Crossover service in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
A suspect has been arrested in connection with the deaths of the two residents of the capital’s Ibara Government Reservation Area, according to Ogun State Police Command spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi.
The suspected arsonists are believed to have followed the couple to their private residence before setting fire to it.
According to a police spokesman, the suspected arsonists also kidnapped the victims’ son and housemaid and dumped them in a river along the town’s Adigbe-Obada axis.
Kehinde worked for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) until his death, and his wife Bukola worked at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
The victims were said to have been burned beyond recognition, and their remains were later packed at the scene by police and health officials and driven to the hospital in an ambulance.
Hundreds of sympathizers were seen crying profusely in the house as a result of the sad development.
Further, Abimbola stated that the police command has launched investigations to determine both the immediate and remote causes of the incident. He also guaranteed that justice would be served.
