Dennis Idahosa’s Name Rings Bells As Edo Looks Forward To Next Year Gubernatorial Election
As life is a continuum, so is governance; nobody is indispensable when it comes to leadership; the elections are over, and Nigerians are already planning for the next one; as dem say, who dey cry dey see road na, so who dey lament their loss in the last electoral elections dey plan for the next one.
With Obaseki leaving the stage entirely and paving the way for a completely new tenant and complementary cabinet at Dennis Osadebe Avenue, Edo State is poised to reclaim the centre stage in political discussions prior to next year’s gubernatorial elections, it will be a long and interesting road ahead.
So, now that people are talking and tongues are wagging, who will be Edo State’s next Executive Governor? What are his or her plans for the state, and how will he or she overcome the obstacles to become the next Osadebe occupant?
Dennis Idahosa, the current lawmaker representing Ovia Federal constituency in the National Assembly, is ringing like a mighty bell at the heart of the Cathedral. Dennis, who appears to be a fortunate child who has never lost a political contest, appears to have the grace of God hovering around him.
The youths are his constituency, and Edo youths, who are renowned for being obstinate when it comes to voting decisions, should never be underestimated by any sane politician. Even a lunatic would advise you never to underestimate the Edo Youths.
They appear to be motivated by his youth and exceptional performance as a federal lawmaker for Ovia constituency; they see him as the beacon for the next generation of leaders who will take over governance at all levels.
His performance has given rise to numerous rumours that the likeable lawmaker may be interested in becoming the next governor of Edo State because he meets nearly all of the criteria set forth by the Youths.
If recent electoral results are considered as one of the criteria for selecting its governorship candidate, Dennis Idahosa is well qualified to receive his party’s ticket, the APC.
People now understand that money plays only a minor role in winning elections and is not the main attraction, thanks in part to the CBN’s political shenanigans that were orchestrated by Emiefele which involved withholding cash from the last general elections.
Your level of popularity is now the deciding factor in any election. His key selling point is that, due to his approachability and performance, he appeals to both the youth of the APC and the Obident movement in Edo State.
