Edo Deputy Governor Urges Residents To Support Okpebholo’s Development Agenda

Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, has called on residents to support Governor Monday Okpebholo’s development agenda, stressing the importance of unity, cooperation and collective responsibility in achieving sustainable growth across the state.

According to Ireporter Online, Idahosa made the appeal during a thanksgiving service held in honour of the late mother of the Edo State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Jerry Uwangue. The event attracted government officials, political leaders, religious figures, family members, friends and other well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of the deceased.

In a statement released on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, the deputy governor said meaningful development can only be achieved when the government and citizens work together towards a common goal.

Idahosa urged Edo residents to continue supporting the policies and programmes of the Okpebholo-led administration, noting that progress is driven by trust, collaboration and active participation from the people.

He emphasized that constructive engagement and shared responsibility were essential for building a stronger and more prosperous Edo State, adding that citizens have important roles to play in the state’s growth and transformation.

The deputy governor reaffirmed the commitment of the administration to implementing people-focused policies and delivering impactful projects aimed at improving the welfare and living standards of residents.

He also encouraged citizens to remain committed to government initiatives while praying for continued peace, stability and sustainable development in Edo State.

Idahosa further praised the Uwangue family for organizing the thanksgiving service in honour of their late matriarch, describing it as a worthy celebration of a life defined by faith, sacrifice and service to others.

He noted that such gatherings provide opportunities to reflect on important values including love, compassion, unity and peaceful coexistence.

The service also featured prayers for the bereaved family, the Edo State Government and residents of the state, with clerics seeking continued peace, unity and prosperity for Edo State.
