First Accident: Long Bridge Tragedy
A Volkswagen bus with registration number LSR 793 YF, carrying 14 passengers, suffered a burst front tyre while traveling toward Ibadan on the Long Bridge. The driver lost control, causing the bus to crash into the median and somersault repeatedly.

An unidentified female passenger died on the spot, while three women and one man sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to A-Z Private Hospital in Magboro for medical attention.

Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola stated, “Traffic officers arrived promptly, documented the scene, and moved the deceased to Real Divine Mortuary in Ibafo for an autopsy. The damaged bus was removed to avoid further traffic disruptions.”

Second Accident: Sagamu Corridor Collision
Near the En-Salam Filling Station on the expressway, a Cabstar pickup van with registration number AGL 904 AP rammed into a Volvo truck (FZE 2350 G), loaded with goods, after the van’s driver, Tope Kolawole, lost control.

The crash trapped a passenger, Saka Alaigbade, in the wreckage. Emergency responders transported him to Idera Private Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Odutola revealed, “The victim’s remains were handed over to grieving relatives. Both vehicles were towed to the Sagamu Police Office for inspection.”
