After approximately three months of medical leave in Germany, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has returned to Nigeria.

His homecoming was announced by his wife, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, with a concise message on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating, “Homebound.”

However, the specific details regarding the nature of his illness remain undisclosed.

In response to earlier rumors of his demise back in June, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, urged both residents and the general public to dismiss such speculations.

These concerns had arisen due to uncertainty about the governor’s health, as he was reported to have been absent from the state without formally transferring power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
