Speaking at a reception in Akenfa-Yenagoa, Ewhrudjakpo expressed gratitude for surviving a potentially deadly motor accident that could have resulted in numerous fatalities. This event followed a special thanksgiving service at the Refined Peoples Assembly.

Ewhrudjakpo’s remarks come in light of a prior incident last year in which five members of the PYC were involved in an accident while heading to Ekeremor for a campaign organized by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He characterized the survival of all parties involved as a personal triumph, asserting that it validated his innocence while exposing the malice of his political adversaries.

“In the wake of the accident, I faced various despicable blackmails and unfounded rumors about election-related ritual killings aimed at me, particularly since it occurred in my home community of Ofoni in Sagbama Local Government Area,” he explained.

Ewhrudjakpo continued, “I’m grateful today because we didn’t lose anyone in our camp. Even those whom the opposing camp claimed had died and were allegedly used for rituals by this man from Ofoni are all alive here with us. I thank God for not allowing my enemies to prevail against me in that election. What they hoped would happen to us occurred in their camp instead.”
