Full Breakdown Of By-Election Winners In Kano, Rivers And Other States

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results of several federal and state constituency by-elections conducted across Nigeria on Saturday, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerging as the dominant party in most of the contests.

According to official results released by the electoral body, the APC secured victories in multiple constituencies, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recorded a major win in the Rivers South-East Senatorial District.

In Enugu State, APC candidate Ikeje Asogwa emerged victorious in the Enugu North Senatorial District by-election after polling 162,360 votes. His closest challenger, Chief Nestor Ezeme of the PDP, garnered 9,299 votes. The election was held to fill the vacancy created by the death of Senator Okey Ezea in November 2025.

The APC also extended its winning streak to Kebbi State, where Rabiu Garba Aiki clinched the Zuru State Constituency seat with 4,887 votes, defeating Labour Party candidate Aliyu Galadima Muhammad, who secured 168 votes.

In Kano State, APC candidate Rabiu Shuaibu won the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election with 35,356 votes. His opponents, Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad of the Labour Party, polled 268 and 98 votes respectively.

Meanwhile, the PDP celebrated a significant victory in Rivers State as its candidate, Olaka Nwogu, was declared winner of the Rivers South-East Senatorial District by-election. Nwogu secured 47,961 votes to comfortably defeat APC candidate Osar Erewari, who received 1,647 votes.

In Ondo State, APC’s Dayo Faduyile emerged victorious in the Ondo South Senatorial District by-election after polling 68,474 votes. His closest rival, Adeolu Akinwunmi of the Allied People’s Movement, recorded 1,411 votes.

Similarly, in Nasarawa State, APC candidate Danladi Envulu-Anza won the Nasarawa North Senatorial by-election with 45,362 votes. Labour Party candidate Labaran Maku secured 12,931 votes, while PDP candidate Emmanuel David Ombugadu garnered 11,570 votes.

The results further underscore the APC’s strong performance across several states, while the PDP maintained its foothold in Rivers State with a decisive senatorial victory.
