Horror On Gombe’s Roads: Seven Dead In Tragic Trailer Crash, 31 Injured
A devastating accident on Kaltungo-Cham Road in Gombe State has left at least seven people dead, with 31 others injured, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed. The crash, involving a trailer loaded with soft drinks, occurred…
around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, and it is believed to have been caused by brake failure.
The trailer, which had 38 occupants—including 34 males, two females, and two children—lost control, resulting in a tragic loss of life. The deceased, including five males, one female, and one child, have been taken to the General Hospital Kaltungo, where the injured are also receiving treatment.
FRSC Sector Commander Samson Kaura issued a warning to the public, advising against hitching rides on trailers, emphasizing the danger of such practices. He urged the public to understand the serious risks associated with traveling in heavy-duty vehicles, which are designed for transporting goods, not people.
In addition, Kaura encouraged drivers to maintain their vehicles properly to help prevent similar accidents in the future. The FRSC continues to urge caution on the roads to avoid further tragedies.
