I, My Family Being Punished Over Comment On Peter Obi’s Investment – Soludo Cries Out

Governor Soludo

Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has expressed concern that his family members are being harassed as a result of his comments about Peter Obi’s investment in the state.

During an interview, the former Central Bank Governor stated that the investment claimed by Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi with Anambra State revenues was “next to nothing.”

Following Soludo’s remark, Obi supporters unleashed a barrage of criticism, particularly on social media.

In a Facebook post on Monday, the Anambra governor claimed that people who were offended by his remark had launched attacks on him and his family.

According to him, there have been suggestions that the recent attack on security personnel in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, the state where he is from, was carried out by those enraged by his remark.

“Unfortunately, several of the comments left the issue of the interview to probe or suggest motives, inferred from my response on “investment” that I am opposed to Peter Obi’s ambition and thus committed a “crime” for which the punishment is internecine abuse and harassment, even to my family,” he said.

“Some argue that the gunmen who attempted to attack a checkpoint in my hometown on Saturday, November 12th but were shot down were part of the mob reaction.”

“I used to believe that certain behaviors are off-limits for decent people and that politics is not warfare in Anambra.”
