Imprisoned Nwaoboshi Challenges Nwoko’s Victory At Tribunal

Senator Peter Nwaoboshi of the All Progressives Congress, Delta North senatorial candidate, has petitioned the election petitions tribunal to challenge the Peoples Democratic Party’s Ned Nwoko’s victory.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Nwoko the winner after he received 92,514 votes, defeating his closest rival, Ken Kanma of the LP, who received 86,121 votes, and Nwaoboshi, who received 36,816 votes.

However, Nwaoboshi, who is currently incarcerated after being convicted of fraud, filed a petition challenging the outcome of the senatorial election.

Mr Valentine Onojegheuo, the APC’s state Publicity Secretary, revealed this on Friday in Asaba while speaking about the party’s efforts to reclaim their mandate.
