Ooo… Men Mount; The true definition of the street term Men Mount, which is currently trending on social media, was witnessed recently at the Auchi Day Celebration, when former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole stormed the palace grounds of the sacred Auchi Kingdom in celebration of the Annual Auchi Day Celebration.

The sight of Oshiomhole’s arrival was breathtaking. Allow me to share an intriguing story: At the Auchi Day Celebration, there looked to be a budding political competition between Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu and Asue Ighodalo, both PDP frontrunners for Edo governorship. It culminated in a show of strength between the two sides, with both intensely mobilising their supporters for the event.

Philip was already seated when Oshiomhole arrived, while Asue Ighodalo was still anticipated from Benin. The state of the Benin-Auchi road often causes delays. Unexpectedly, Oshiomhole, accompanied by the amiable Niger Delta Development Minister,Hon Abubakar Momoh  made his entrance. Suddenly, supporters mobilized by both Philip Shaibu and Ighodalo joined the enthusiastic crowd, offering Oshiomhole a rousing and jubilant welcome amidst the attendees.

The resounding chants of “Baba Dey Dey Oyoyo” resonated through the air, vibrant and natural, evoking smiles and joy among the attendees.
