According to Ireporter Online, the President made the appeal on Thursday during the commissioning of the Arterial Road N16 – Ring Road III Interchange linking Jahi District to Gwarimpa District in Abuja. He was represented at the event by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

Tinubu described infrastructure as the backbone of national prosperity and a central pillar of his administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, noting that road projects play a critical role in connecting communities and stimulating economic activity.

Speaking at the event, the President expressed satisfaction over the completion of the interchange, stating that it would ease traffic congestion that previously affected major parts of the capital city, including routes stretching from Maitama to Gishiri and Jahi to Gwarimpa.

He explained that the new infrastructure would improve mobility, reduce travel time for workers, enhance security operations, and boost economic productivity by eliminating long-standing gridlock in the area.

The President further emphasized that roads serve as the “arteries of a nation,” noting that improved connectivity between districts ultimately translates to economic growth and improved livelihoods for citizens.

Tinubu also reassured Nigerians of his administration’s commitment to national development, insisting that the country remains capable of progress with the right focus, discipline, and political will.

He concluded by urging citizens to fulfill their civic responsibilities, stating that increased tax compliance would empower government to deliver even more developmental projects across the nation.
