While evaluating Tinubu’s first year in office, George urged citizens to exercise patience, noting that a single year is insufficient for a comprehensive evaluation of Tinubu’s administration. He pointed out that the current crises have roots in the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, which spanned from 2015 to 2023.

George described the Buhari era as potentially the worst in Nigerian history since independence in 1960, suggesting that it almost led to the collapse of the Nigerian state.
