Four of the G5 Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party and allies of their Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike, have been awarded the Rivers State Grand Service Star, the state’s highest honor.

The governors are Benue State’s Samuel Ortom, Abia’s Okezie Ikpeazu, Oyo’s Seyi Makinde, and Enugu’s Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Governors Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, and Ahmadu Fintri of Adamawa State have also received the GSSRS award.

Governor Nyesom Wike presented them with the awards on Saturday night at the Rivers State Government Honours and Awards 2022 ceremony at Government House in Port Harcourt.

The second category was the Rivers State Distinguished Service Star award.

Beneficiaries include the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, the wife of Rivers State Governor, Justice Suzzette Wike, and the wives of Seyi Makinde and Donald Duke.

Former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Bode George, former Cross Rivers State Governor, Donald Duke, former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, former Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, former Ondo State Governor, Olesegun Mimiko, and former Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji were also honored.

Others include former Gombe State Governor Ibrahim Dakwambo and former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
