Record-Breaking Day: NGX Adds N183bn, Investors Reap Huge Rewards

The All-Share Index mirrored this growth, increasing by 303 points (0.31%), reaching 98,509.68 from the previous day’s 98,206.97. This uplift pushed the Year-To-Date (YTD) return to an impressive 31.74%.

Key equities such as Aradel Holdings, Zenith Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA), Oando Plc, and Nigerian Breweries led the surge, contributing to the overall positive performance.

The market breadth also remained favorable, with 34 stocks advancing and 17 declining. Among the top gainers, Africa Prudential, Conoil, and RT Briscoe rose by 10% each, closing at N14.30, N352, and N2.42 per share, respectively. Golden Guinea Breweries followed closely with a 9.95% gain, closing at N7.18, while NEM Insurance saw a 9.74% jump to N10.70 per share.

On the flip side, Julius Berger led the losers’ chart with a 10% dip, closing at N155.25, while Secure Electronic Technology Plc dropped by 9.52%, ending at 57k per share.

Despite the positive market trend, trading volume saw a decline of 49.44% compared to the previous session. A total of 320.10 million shares worth N6.48 billion changed hands in 7,943 deals, down from 939.41 million shares valued at N12.81 billion in 9,098 deals on Tuesday.

ETranzact led the trading volume with 70.27 million shares, while Aradel topped the value chart with deals totaling N1.22 billion.
