Sanusi Reveals List Of Greater Sins Than Homosexuality

Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, emphasized the significance of internal virtues over external actions during a recent virtual Ramadan lecture. Sanusi stressed that sins such as greed, envy, and selfishness hold far greater weight than activities like homosexuality and unlawful sex.

Speaking on the topic of social disorder, Sanusi highlighted the disconnect between religious observance and ethical behavior among some Muslims. He pointed out the contradiction of individuals who engage in corrupt practices despite religious adherence, citing examples of leaders who prioritize personal gain over public welfare.

Sanusi lamented instances where governors in Sharia-implementing states were involved in corruption, including embezzlement of public funds for personal luxury. He underscored the importance of trust and accountability in leadership, warning of the consequences of betrayal of public trust.

The former central bank governor urged political leaders, including figures like Tinubu, to learn from past mistakes and prioritize ethical governance. He emphasized the necessity of internal purity and accountability to Allah, asserting that true righteousness stems from the heart rather than outward displays of religiosity.
